Constant tone alarms are for:
1.) engine coolant temp overheat,
2.) low engine oil pressure,
3.) engine overspeed,
4.) exhaust manifold cooling temp overheat
5.) sea pump PSI low FYI This is kind of commen, And is said to not show up in the history. The only way to know is to watch this sensor live as it happens. Make sure all you grounds are tight on and around the engine. And if this sensor has any paint on it it could be loosing it's ground and sounding the alarm.Or you could have picked up some air bubbels for a short time till you slowed down, Or the impeller, or impeller housing is starting to fail. This is Just a thought of what could be happening is all.Good luck with it.

Constant beep alarms are for:
1.) low outdrive lube level.

Two Alarm beeps every 60 seconds are for:
1.) Faulty cam,
2.) IAC,
3.) MAP,
4.) MAT,
5.) knock sensors.
6.) open/short in the engine cooling temp circuit
7.) open/short in fuel injector wiring circuit,
8.) open/short in oil PSI circuit,
9.) open/short in exhaust manifold cooling temp circuit,
10.) open/short in sea pump circuit,
11.) open/short in throttle position circuit

The Rinda scan tool is worth it's weight in gold.

It's worth the investment to have one in the neighborhood. Go in together with a group of friends.

Very well could be. Your 342 has sat for a while right? I'd change the water pumps.

mine was beeping at me last year, my buddy said unplug the sensor on the plastic bottle for the outdrive oil. i did and beeping went away. said its the most common problem on those set ups. he tested it later and that was it. so i left it unplugged for now. i know the issue and always keep an eye on it so i am not spending the money to replace

Have you had it scanned?
Have you checked the drive lube reservoir?

Do you have equal amounts of water coming out each exhaust tube? My bet is exhaust temp sensor.

Do you have continuous solid horn or intermittent continuous beeps.

Explaining the continuous beeps in the water and NOT out of the water for whomever - Drive lube bottle / reservoir - is your gear oil full in the bottle ?? - Next time running the engine and horn goes off - go back and unplug the 2 wires to the gear lube bottle. Did the horn go away if so - you possible need a new gear oil reservoir or clean the bottom of it out from gelled oil causing the float to stick. Make sure it is full first and foremost before anything .

In the water possible waves causing the float to stick or gear oil level not high enough causing its level to dip in the bottle because boat is no longer level. - out of the water - no waves and the boat is more level - so this makes the l gear oil level in the bottle just enough for the float not to touch bottom, hence no alarm.

I believe you are saying Solid horn correct ??? - make sure your oil level is full - Stock 496 takes 9 qts of oil. what is your oil pressure readings when alarm is going off ? And of course there is more but want to know ????

does this only happen under FULL THROTTLE - MY GUESS is OVERSPEED warning - solid horn at full throttle or close to full throttle ONLY - Is this correct ????? What is your rpm at the upper throttle positions ?

Also if at half throttle and above - I DO AGREE with the EMCT overheat (exhaust manifold temp and or that sensor) as well.

report if solid horn or beeps and just asking what rpms does the horn or beeps comes into play ? All rpms or just idle or just full throttle ?
