Default 1994 216 Convicor

A friend of mine is looking at one of these as a starter boat. I believe it has 5.7 with a Alpha GenII Outdrive. I don't know much about the Alpha drives or this boat, but is this a decent riding boat for a lake, is the Alpha drive suitable for a 5.7 or is on the small side?

Please provide any and all input. Thanks.

I had an Alpha with a 5.7 on my first boat. 1995 Rinker 232 Captiva. Heavier than the Convincor. 12 people, 10 full coolers, pullling tubers and skiers and never had any drive issues. That boat had two speeds....ON and OFF
