Looking for depth gauge for 272
Looking for a setup for my 272, which has never had one installed. I've read lots about through hull transducers v.s. transom mounts, and I guess I'd like to go with a through hull as long as I can get relatively accurate figures, and the thing will work.
Can anyone reccommend a good setup, good price, etc.? The gauge would preferably be a white, 2" round gauge. An older post reccomended (performance, price) the HawkEye ones on Ebay with a through hull transducer. Anybody had any luck with these?
Because access under my engine (along the boat's centerline) would be extremely difficult, where is an acceptable place to install them (between the stringers, etc.)?
Thanks!

My 272 has a Lowrance that has been on the boat since new. My "puck" is located under the motor, in between the stringers. I'll try and take a pic of it today and post it later.
