26 Bravo or Mach sir. You are also missing out on power. What heads and cam do you have? That seems very mild for a 540.

Bob Madera set up my engine. was 502 mag carb. .30 over now 509. heads have rough edges removed and gasket matched. custom cam by bob. dart single plane. 9.3:1 comp bob je pistons, isky and all the good stuff. with a holley 800 on top. she is strong. bob said my peak power is 5600rpm and that is where i run it and that is what she does. smooth water she runs 71 72. rough like 1 foot chop or a little more 73 74. have barely tripped 75 once on gps and it went 75.1 and then back down after a bit to 74.8. She does very well! and the bravo prop is ok... has a hard time carrying the bow though. like the mirage better.

I have a 23P 4 blade and a stock 330 hp 454. The fastest i've seen is 64mph (according to the GPS on my phone) at 4600 rpm with about 1/4 tank of gas and just me in it.

LOL, um the pics show otherwise. and where were u at? must have missed you. next time where some stilts so you can keep your head above water.

from hearing everyone elses response im thinking i either need to have the prop checked again, check the tuning on the motor. OR and i need to check my trimming. Ill be honest this is my first boat running like that. so i guess it is possible im not trimming the motor correctly for top speed. thanks for all the replies for sure.

True

Yea, you have to trim up for speed. If you have a GPS you can find the sweet spot pretty easy. Loose is fast, just be careful triming up in rough water. I caught some serious air a few times before I raised my x dim. Now I don't have to trim up as high for speeeed !!!

My buddy before he was killed had a 1992 24 OL with a 635 HP 540 c.i. Saw low 80's in that multiple times.
