When I was shopping I narrowed it down to the 342 and 33. Became a matter of geography, price and so on. I'm really happy with the 342. I first thought the genset would be a little gimmicky, but sure is nice to have all the ammenities. And it's care and feeding are simple.

If you are contemplating any overnight stays on the boat, go with the 30 OL. Ours sleeps two comfortably and I've had no problems with the liner construction.

My opinion - I agree with the majority of these comments. Go with an outlaw or 342 if looking for comfort and more of a family friendly performance boat. If speed matters most and you don't care for a roomy cockpit, go Fountain. Both brands are reasonably priced, quality for the money. I highly recommend to demo both boats in normal water conditions depending on where you boat (rough chop, swells, Smooth water, etc.) to get an even better idea of what you like most. Good luck.

My guess is if you ask Fountain owners, they will say go Fountain. Baja owners will say Baja. The reason is simple, they looked at both and went with the one that fit them best and both boats leave their owners satisfied. I've owned 2 Bajas and one Fountain and all did exactly what I wanted them to do. Biggest factors are size (29 Fever vs. 29 OL are not even close, OL is way bigger) and step hull( Fountain is going to be considerably faster w/ same power).
There should be plenty to choose from in your budget range. Take your time look around and make some offers, it's a buyer's market.
Good Luck!
