This is ALOT more than the advertised dry weight.
was that at the flying J or loves.......

I should have clarified my trailer weighs approx 1300 lbs. So full of fuel the boat was 5200 lbs give or take.

So I would guess a 25 full of fuel would be maybe a couple hundred lbs heavier and agree with you at around 5500 lbs.

So all in all we are in same ballpark...26 OL ~6160#.....25 OL ~5700#......But without actually weighing the trailer and only guessing what the manufacture has told you it is still just a guess. The only true number we know from your experience is the 7660 total with trailer.

endeavor1: yes it was at Loves.

Baja man: Heritage trailor said without hesitation 1,500 lbs. was real close so I wouldnt call that a guess. I would imagine they have a good idea what their trailers weigh.

I have a good friend with an '05 25 Outlaw and we will weigh it with the same conditions this weekend. I will report back.

Ok we weighed an '05 Baja 25 Outlaw with an empty tank of gas, no anchor, and on a Roadrunner trailer at 6,740 pounds. It has a 496HO/Bravo B1X which is the same as my '08 26 Outlaw. Doing a little math to remove the weight of fuel in my 26 brings the total to 7,035 pounds. I hope to get some portable scales to weigh the trailers at the dock, but this might not happen for a few weeks. For those interested my '09 GMC Duramax Crewcab weighs 7,040 pounds

That's good to know. So assuming the trailer is ~1500# and we know the fuel will add 600#....brings weight to 5840# + your gear.....so a tad over 6000# loaded up.

I have a question when they figure dry weight is that with or without the motor? Trying to find a trailer for my boat and I was told a trailer capable to carry 6100 lbs was fine and I have a 2005 275 model with a 496 mag.

Dry weight is figured with motors, but no gear or fuel, water, etc... personally, you want a trailer that will handle quite a bit more than the boat actually weighs. The closer the max trailer capacity is to the actual boat weight, the more problems you are going to have. My 29 outlaw dry weight is listed as 6400, but full of gear and fuel, it is more like 8400 - 9000. I think 6100 capacity is a little light, I would want about 8000-8500 capacity if it was me...maybe a little overboard, but more piece of mind!

Thanks that helps me out. My dry weight is listed at 4400 so another 200 lbs for the 496 mag over the 350 plus full of fuel and gear would put me around 5800 lbs but don't plan on towing with a full tank. Would you say then 6100 lbs capacity is cutting to close? I was told the trailer would be enough for our boat and the next size up would be to much but I"m wondering around a 7000 lbs capacity would be better.

Thanks.

Personally, I think its too close. My boat is about 8400 and the trailer has two 5000 or 6000 pound axles. So the capacity is 10000 - 12000. I didn't think you could have too much trailer. What trailer are you looking at?
