Bronson Hill 27's
I got back my Bronson Hill 27’s and the results are below. All numbers are GPS and achieved on mirror-flat water with temps in the high 80’s:
Old 25’s:
2500rpm – 33.5mph
3000rpm – 41.5mph
3500rpm – 49.3mph
4000rpm – 58.5mph
5200rpm – 74.8mph
New 27’s
2500rpm – 33.5mph
3000rpm – 43.5mph
3500rpm – 53.2mph
4000rpm – 60.5mph
5000rpm – 77.2mph
I obtained the new numbers without activating my OTIS311 Turbo (AKA engine cover opened 2”). Someday I will use my OTIS311 Turbo but not today.
I guess I’ll settle for these numbers. It would have been great to see 78 since 78 can be rounded up to 80 for bragging purposes. Oh well, perhaps with the OTIS deployed.

I don't know about holeshot. I kind of forgot to test it. I just did what I always do which is to run it up to about 3200rpm and leave it there until it comes on plane. I will check holeshot a bit more next time out.

Hey Bobby,
Ran into Reiter last weekend. He was pulling up to the ramp in his Baja and I heard him yell "77.5" to Troy who was pulling up in his Velocity. I guess that means 77.5mph. He must have just checked it with GPS. If so, that's amazing for a single engine boat without a blower. I guess all those little things he's done add up (blueprinted hull, labbed prop, snake oil on the bottom, etc). Last time I spoke to him about speed he said he was only seeing 73-74.
As far as my boat, I'm quite happy. If someone wanted it, I would cut it loose but the more I run it out there, the more I would fear going down in size. If I went up in size, I would have another dilema, I would need a bigger driveway.

Hey man I wouldnt worry about the driveway part too much you can always make it bigger. If i was you i wouldnt go down in size i would go bigger if i could afford it that is! I will ask pat about that speed tonight he is supposed to come to boaters world. The only thing i know he is pumping out 550hp on the dyno.
