Default thoughts on value

232 is in MI -

Same old story of trying to figure out value - and I know value is what someone is willing to pay, but looking for some opinions based on known recent sales:

Whats the true value of a 232 right now?

I know most on boat trader around the 2000 year are asking between 18K - 25K. It seems like those have been on there for 6+months. Theres a 2002 the guy wants 29K but its been for sale for over a year. I know of a 98 that sold for 14.5K.

So whats a 232 really worth; 2000, 7.4 MPI 200 hours, good shape, no trailer.

Don't know if you settled on a boat yet, but as a reference, mine finally sold here in Dallas. I started at 18k, and finally started getting responses at 15. That's what I ended up selling it for. It had an almost new 502, EVERYHING in the interior replaced, including the wood, a badass stereo, and a trailer. I paid 20k for it 3 years ago with a 7.4 LXI motor, I just got kinda screwed by the economy, not even counting all the work I did to it. Keep that in mind when you make an offer on a boat you like. And if you haven't decided yet, I would HIGHLY recommend the 252, just for the ride alone. I have been in the 232, and that extra 2 feet makes a big difference. Also, I know you are wanting the swim platform, but my brother has a newer 25 outlaw with the aluminium platform, and it's actually more usable than the dinky one on the 252. And his cuddy is bigger, and his boat rides quite a bit better compared to my old 252. If I could go back 3 years and do it over again, I would probably look for a 25OL vs either the 252 or 232. Honestly, if I had a 25OL, I probably would have put off upgrading for a couple more years.

txt - thanks for the reference, good information to have. My struggle is Im really looking for the truly impossible to find do all boat. I figure about 40% of the time will be wakeboarding, 40% of the time go fast to party bay, and 20% of the time travel around the great lakes.

I'm 100% set on a windshield boat for MI weather, I like to go out on April and October. So that throws the OLs out.

My new problem is planing speed with the 232, its not low enough, I think this will only be worse with the 252. I was mostly happy with the ride of the 232 I tested this weekend, but havent tried a 252.

Hey.Just my two scents, after hours of research and the months of lookin on sites i found the pricing to be more realistic up here in Canada.Picked up 24OL SST with roller trailer fresh rebuild 502 for $16grand.It doesnt matter what your lookin for.I have seen 232's go for 15 to 17 all day long.Be patient use kijji.ca I thought for sure the best deal would be down south and they might be,i believe however its the right place at the right time deals...good luck believe me when i say ive been in your shoes..

Thanks for the luck, I just hope it works out. It seems like all of the 232s out there right now are 18-30k, including a trailer. But Im really looking for '99 or newer; older ones are going lower.

Bump - I'm still on the hunt for a 232, any new listings out there beyond boattrader and craigslist?
