The 272/275 are both 25' boats, the same as the 25OL, they just have a larger cockpit with a wind screen. The 29OL is a 29' boat with twins, so it is def a much bigger boat. So the added length is mostly in the cabin.

The 29 ol is larger in the cockpit than both the 25ol and 272. Not much bigger than the 272 but it is. There is about 9 inches more room between the back seat and the bolster on the 29 vs. the 25. In addition, the sunpad/engine hatch is larger than both the 25ol and 272. About a foot or so longer. As for the raised x, the boat will be faster with the same power. The down side is slow speed handling. With a raised x, the 29 ol will not like to go slower than 30, atleast mine didn't. With the stock x, slower than 30 will be ok, a lot easier to handle, It is a trade off. In my opinion, the raised x is not worth it unless you are planing on making big power and trying to get over 80 or more. Additionally, hole shot can suffer if the x is too high. However, there is not to many 29 ol's out there with a raised x other than Jason's, my old one and maybe a few others.

I think I have narrowed it down to the best deal comes around and "probably" will need to have mags!
From my searches, looks like 7.4s on pushing to 62ish so our normal cruise at 50 will be have to run a lil high on the R's, where the mags would be under 4k for 50mph....

Having said all this - buy one with Mags because the pricing is so close now on used, and 62 MPH is not like running 70. Hook up a computer to check the hours, and never trust hour meters that can be switched.

My 98 29 OL runs 55-56 at 4000 rpm, top speed gps is 64 on flat water. 7.4 non-mags turning 23 pitch mirage plus...normal cruise is 3500-3800, which gives me 48-51 mph.....just sayin.....

That's what I'm screaming!
@XT thanks for the input, I think that puts me over the hump on my decision
@rum runner. Looks like your boat is set up well! My cruise with my mag when I had the 23m+ was 4k at 49ish and Max was 64.7 at 5100. Assuming you have 1.5 drives your getting 5-6% slip!
Do twins normally get slip #'s that low??
