Prop my 33' outlaw
I have a 1999 33' outlaw with hp500 carb engines. The engines are fresh with about 20 hours on them. When they were redone, 10.5-1 pistons were installed instead of the factory 8.75 (?). It currently will pull 75mph at about 52-5300 rpm. Could I benefit from going to a set of 28p or 30p props? Will I still be able to spin them? What if they were labbed? Thanks for any input.

2" of pitch should bring you down 400 rpms. What is wot range? Depending on what the top of your wot range or HP curve is would dictate where you need to be. Explained to me by Mr Eddie young, you should be at the top of your range and every 100 rpms could be 15 HP. Hope that helps.. trying to figure mine out too but with lil less power!
Try some 28s.. 30s will be too much.

I've been fiddling all summer trying to get things "just right". Couldn't get the boat over 73 mph no matter what i did. Changed out deive oil to Alisyn 80wt and picked up 2mph. Not sure if it was a fluke or not but i'll take it. I found a set of labbed 30's but maybe ill hold off for a set of labbed 28's. Maybe its time for blowers....

If max speed is what you're looking for, go for a set of 25 Mirage +'s....in 99' the drives were installed pretty low.....4 blades are not going to be the fastest

As Jt said. Older model deep drives, the mirage plus three blade was the ticked. On my newer 33
I had best luck with bblades 28 labbed thin with some cup. Hot weather a full 26 worked best . I ran
72-74 on a 2006 496 boat with labbed 28's

Before you go dumping money into your boat realize you will need Major drive upgrades (SCX), fuel system, gauges, Hydraulic steering, etc etc. its adds up fast to 40-60k.
Sounds like your boat is running great like it is though!
JT is correct on the 3 blades being faster top end due to the deeper drive. The 4 blades are nice overall and at your RPM I wouldn't waste any money on props. Sounds like you are pretty close to being dialed in now.
Its smarter to buy another boat already faster then to make yours faster. You can always buy mine (97mph+) or JTs (93mph+) if you want to run faster............
