35 Outlaw questions
I am currently in a 2009 26 Outlaw, love the boat but looking to move up to something that will take rough water on Lake Michigan a little better and give me the amenities to overnight. I am looking at used 35 Outlaws and also Fountains speed isn't as important to me as ride in rough water and the boat holding up. Did the 35's have the liner issues or was it just 30's? What kind of top end with HO's and 525's? Is the 35 a good rough water boat and built to take a beating? Ballpark yearly insurance for inland lake use? I like the Outlaws for the cockpit space but am concerned about the durability compared to a Fountain. I appreciate any insight and experience with this.

I moved up to a 35 lightning with 525s this spring from a 29 and couldn't be happier. I'm on a freshwater river that leads to the ocean where 5-6' seas are common and it handles it extremely well. Depending on conditions I run high 80s to low 90s on gps. I stay a night or two now and then on it and its pretty comfortable for the most part. Hope this helps

Agree with above. I went from a 29ol with ho's to the 35ol with ho's. best I saw in the 35 was 75. Usually ran 72-73. 525's will get you low 80's
If I had todo it again I would definitely get a 525!
I loved the 35 cockpit. Cabin was fair. Never overnighted.
