Default Anything to look out for on 29 outlaws

Are than any common issues to look out for on the 29 outlaws. Looking at a 97 or 98. I know my 24 had some wet coring and other wet wood. I'm not sure how to tell with the 29 since it has the inner liner and zero room in the engine compartment. How about the stringers and transom? I guess it's basically how well it was cared for and how good of a job the workers did on the days they layed up the fiberglass when it was built? How fast does it go with twin 7.4 efi and with 454 mags?

NICE! What wheels were on it?

Those 454Mags will last forever with the right maintenance.. We have a 29 in the family that's nearing 1200hrs on the 454Mags in it! Boat is reliable and still runs/looks great!

The 29 is not a liner boat.

A survey, with attention to moisture content, for piece of mind would be in order. I'd expect a '97-'98 would have some water damage somewhere. Better to know now rather than later. Good Luck.

Yeah check that transom. My buddy had to put a new transom in his last summer. That's a wallet buster.

I haven't run him yet but apparently it's a consistent mid-60s boat according to him. He has twin 454s.

a Baja that age will have rot somewhere in it. Back bench, motor lid (easily isolated and fixed). Transom....not so much.

Hookem, I meant the inner liner fiberglass floor. I guess it depends on how much time it spent in the water and out in the elements. From my experience, a lot of the water damage comes from rain and water sitting inside the boat.

Jack the boat of the trailer and look for blisters,,,,,,, that year Baja had barrier coat issues.

My 97 272 was a trailer queen and still had them
