The 500 is the engine horsepower. But that does not mean that flame arrestor is the one that came on that engine. Is you do a search in either the swap shop or wanted section of this site you will find tons of people either looking for the hp500 arrestor or selling it.
Who knows, someone could have bought one of the 500's later down the line and installed it. Or they could have bought a 500 flame arrestor and installed it.
From the picture of the engine you can see that there is aftermarket exhaust on it which someone added at some point. It may have just been an engine build up topped off with a 500 arrestor. That being said, it wouldn't mean someone didn't build a 500hp engine and install it.
I see a holley carb, but can't tell what intake from pics.

The boat looks clean. The CL ad says a 471 cu in. That makes a little more sense to me. That would make it a 454 that has been bored .090. Actually a 473 cu in but who needs to get that particular.
The clean interior is a plus, the aluminum platform is nice, the updated gauges are a plus. Just make sure there is no rot in the transom and stringers and find out what the engine is,

I got one just like it but mine has a 355 with the alpha. Mine is in good shape but not quite as nice as this one looks and I would think 8500 is a good price as I would call it a $12,500 boat. I love mine. Has lots of room and nice cabin. I took the fridge out cause it would run down the batts and we just put a cooler under the back seat. I plan on building a swim platform like the one on this boat this summer. I say go for it even if the motor is not 500hp but get someone that knows what they are looking at to go with u. The add seams a little weird to me
