Default Outlaw 24 vs Outlaw 25

Can someone shed some light on a 24OL vs a 25OL. Looks like 24 was produced up to 98, with the 25OL being introduced in 98 as well. 99 was only a 25OL.

Anyone have any input on what the advantages of the 25 over the 24 is besides the obvious. Hull design different? Etc..

Thanks!

The 25 has a lot better access into the cabin. Other than that they are pretty similar. Having been in both and owning a 240 (the same hull as the 24 Outlaw), I would prefer a 25.

Yea, that's what I was gathering from the pictures. I'm getting ready to buy my first Baja and the 25OL is right at the budget limit I was trying to keep. What's another 5k... sigh..

Thanks for the info.

25's have a notched transom, 24's don't. 25's weigh a little more and are just a tad slower with the same power. Easier cuddy access. Larger benches in cuddy, smaller berth. Better/newer looking dash. I think only a handful of the early 25's had the ****ty fiberglass swim platform the 24's do, most have tubular aluminum platforms.

If you can budget 30k check out Active Thunder 25' tantrums. I'd take one of those hands down over a 24/25 outlaw.

Thanks for all the feedback. Appreciate it. Buying another boat is stressful! I forgot how much pain I went through last time I did this.

25ol was a great boat, moving up from a 21 degree Larson, it was like getting on a yacht! took rough water very well. Both boats have 24 degree V and will have a good ride, ultimately the 25ol, depending on graphics, will look a lot more modern (newer!!). Don't worry about the tall guy.. he is actually 6' 9.5".. so boat just looks small with him! I'm a foot shorter !

For example, This was our 99 25OL

this is our 98 33OL that I recently updated the colors on!!

The 24 are a carpeted plywood cockpit floor that is filled with foam and the 25 floor is fiberglass and molded with the deck. The 240 Sport/Outlaw hull was the starting point for many other models including the 25 OL. The 25 bottom design is just the 24 with 12" added to the rear running surface and that small notch on the 25 is more a gimmick than function, like the the "Speed Rails" that were carved into the chines. The other models that were designed from the 24 hull were: 250 Sport/270, 252, 272, and Islander versions.

I remember someone telling me the 24 had a higher degree dead rise than the 25. Was told the 24 rides better in rough water but is slower than the 25 with same power. I love my 24, however the styling of the 25 is a newer look, and def the biggest thing is the access to the cabin. that's prob the one thing I really don't like is having to crawl into the cabin.

I'm getting ready to put my '97 24 SST Outlaw on the market if anyone is interested. Freshwater boat with 454 Mag 365hp (carb), 180hrs, with FULL stand up camper canvas (real nice for overnighting or bad weather), on trailer for $20k

Main requirements are:

1) Nice hefty motor of course. 5.0L won't cut it. Singe engine 454 or 502 is my wish.
2) Some cuddy cabin space (possibly with room for a porta potty under the hull seat for my daughter)
3) Big enough to handle the lake when it gets choppy (Lake Lanier in Atlanta is known for is busy chop) so 24+ is what I'm looking at
4) Budget - 25k max.
