Default Baja 232 Islander prop

Hey guys I have a 232 Islander with a 454 MPI and am currently running a 23p mirage+ and it works pretty good, decent hole shot and WOT I am right around 4600-4800 Rpms. I have a Bravo 24p four blade laying around and thought about putting it on my Islander, how do you guys think it will work or is it a waste of time?

I see I dropping to 4200-4400 with that prop. Good hole shot but mid and top is going to take a dump

A fellow boater with the the same 232 islander is running the same prop 23+. 23+ seems to be the prop for the boat but he has the 7.4 mpi (320 hp). But if you have the 4 blade sitting there swap it out and test it. No harm no foul, Im guessing your rps will drop a little.

I see your about a 3 hour drive south of me, so your not swapping props at the sand bar yet so do it on the trailer before you head out today. .......

Yeah for sure not swapping props in the water, well without waiters anyway. I pulled the boat off my lift wednesday, the weekend was a little hard on it so it needed a clean up and refuel. I am going to throw it on for grins and see how it works, no loss if it doesn't work.

The Bravo I 24p worked awesome, hole shot was great and still pulled it to 4800 rpms with full fuel and a few people on board. I don't think I really gained any top speed but mid range feels better and there was less porpoising with it trimmed out.

I'd be curious if you can get some GPS speeds on the boat with that prop? I'm looking to re-prop (current 19P mirage+) my 232 with the 6.2L. It has similar HP (320) as the 454 (7.4) MPI.

I second that. Not sure what to do about mine as well. Current prop is the mirage 19p 15.25". How many inch 21 pitch do you guys run?

I can probably do that sometime this week, I wonder if the outdrive gearing is the same from my 454 to your 6.2? The dream-o-meter has said as good as 62, both props were about the same as far as that goes.

Mine is a 1.5 gear ratio. I know the power/torque curves are different between the engines.
