Default 2004 h2x 496

just got my first powerboat. Took it out last weekend and it felt strong. But the speedo was being faulty. Wondering what this thing should run top speed 496 mag bravo 1 drive 1.5 ratio. And a 23 pitch 3 blade prop stainless. Eli me out here fellas

My 2001 with 454 Mag MPI (385hp) ran 67 mph gps on the rev limiter with a mirage 23 (full of gas or not, 2 on board or 6 no matter) with a mirage 25 I ran 71 mph gps 2 on board, 1/2 tank but the holeshot and acceleration were slow, I like the mirage 23 better. For you with a 496 non HO (375hp) I guess its should be similar.

Here's some help.

Do not use a GPS for speed readings. It may just cost you more than the boat did. LOL.

Congrats on your purchase.

I had a 03 H2X with the 496 Mag. Best I ever saw was 69.1 on my GPS. I had a labbed down Mirage+ 25p, and I too experienced slow acceleration and planing. I took off with the trim tabs all the way down and it helped.

Top speed and mid-range were nice, but I could never break 70 with it. Maybe a labbed up 23p would have been better, but Brett at BBlades recommended the 25.
