Upgrading Motors 35 Outlaw
I have an 2006 Outlaw with 496 HO's and only get about 68 mph on a good day. Motors have 300 hrs and I am thinking about upgrading them. I want the 100 mph boat on the lake.
What motors should I look into upgrading too? If I'm going to swap motors I want it to be extreme. I am located in Kentucky and have been talking with Cobra Power in Miami FL. Is there other shops closer to Kentucky that would have that High Performance knowledge of marine engines.
I have been told that I will also have to upgrade my drives.
Need the forum's help with what avenue to take? Really would like to have that 100 mph boat.
-Mike

Your gonna need at least 700HP motors which means your stock drives (assuming Bravo 1 XR'S) will need to be upgraded or swapped out.
Both Lucky7's and the Green Hawkeye 35 outlaw's have the 700sci with NXT-1 package and top out just over 100mph.

You'll have $50-60k in it to do it right to attain you goal and end up with something worth less than what it is stock....if you're fine with that call Eddie Young @ Young Performance Marine, he's in Tennessee

You'll have 20k in parts to sell maybe more. I'd say you need to drop close to 100k in parts to accomplish what you want. I'm also starting a 100mph project. It adds up quick

Figure what your end game will be also. Let's say project is done goal achieved it's 2 years after all is together and you go to sell. What expectations are on what it is worth with your upgraded engines/drives? Do you keep the 496s and put the boat back to stock to sell? What is the value of your boat with stock big power vs aftermarket big power vs all stock? Does it make sense to buy a big power boat done or do you want the project? There is no right or wrong answer, just how much of a hole are you willing to fill with $.
I would also suggest contacting Eddie Young for the build.

Sell the 35 buy JaayTeee's 33 and you will be about as close as you will get in a Baja! Plus $$$ ahead.
and you will have one of the best Baja layout ever built with the 33 cockpit.
Or take the 35 drop 75K in motors and 35k in drives and then Still only have a 70K Baja that probably wont hit a hundie lol
