Hey guys,
I've noticed that no one ever mentions the Baja Bandit series here. It sure isn't much of an offshore boat, it seems to me, is cramped, small cuddy, rides terrible, etc. etc.
Do you get banished if you talk about Bandits?
Since I bought the H2X I've decided to sell mine. and I am really interested in what you fellas think of them, good bad or otherwise. has anyone here owned one?
Shortcomings aside, I got a lot of compliments on mine, and it's going to be kinda emotional to part with it.
It's listed in the classifieds, tried to put a link to the page here, but couldn't get it done. (computer dummy)

24 bandit is an excellent boat.. Very fast even with 7.4 w

BTW if you are getting ready to sell it I would suggest you not
bash it!!!! I did a search of one guys handle and my computer found where he had posted his problem with a rotten transom..

The first boat I owned was a 1991 bandit with a 502 mag. It had the 15 degree deadrise and was as much fun to drive as any boat out there. I did overnight in it but the cabin was non-existent. Although it did ride rough the bennet tabs helped get it thru some big stuff but when I brought to LOTO I thought it was going to break in two. It didn't though which I believe is a testament to how well the boat was built. I never gps'd it but the faria speedo read 83mph at wot and I believe it was close to actual speed as very few boats would best it on a calm day. I miss the boat but not the ride.

A friend of mine had a '96 with a 502 mag and a set of headers, and his would gps 83. I've never had an opportunity to put a gps on mine, but I've seen 74 on the speedo on water that was too calm. I'm with you. Love the boat, hate the ride.--sounds like a love-hate relationship, doesn't it?

actually "stuffed it" a couple of times at LOTO,
after 1995, i banned the boat from ever returning there.
i still think it is one of the sharpest looking boats around,
mercruiser and general motors picked that model to
be the "wette vette" in 1992
whenever i can justify (and afford) having 2 boats,
i want to get another one, add about 600+ hp,
full hyd. steering, shorted imco drive, or blackhawk
with "stern jack" type of setup, that should get close to 100 mph.
got a chance to drive one again this fall, it didn't have as much
"steam" as mine, and the ride still sucked,
so the "thrill" wasn't there.
boat is a great "river" boat,
lakes, it depends on the day's
just my .02

hey garshev,
how did your right elbow feel after a weekend down
at LOTO driving that boat?
