Default Baja Outlaws

Its winter time here so I cannot boat. All I have to look forward to is the boat show in Feb. I have a brochure for Baja from last years boat show and I was looking at it last night. I have a 1999 29 Outlaw and I noticed that the lines on a 29 are different than a 25 Outlaw and 36 Outlaw and a 40 Outlaw. If you look around just below the deflector shield the 25, 33, 36 and 40's have more of a square look compared to the 29 Outlaw. I really like that look better, its more sleek, and it is a shame that Baja did not carry this look for the 29's. Does anyone know why. Thanks Eric

Not sure why they did that. I have seen posters of 25- 40 out laws running side by side and they did not even put the 29 in the mix I do know that the 29 is out and they are building a 30 foot that has the lines of the rest and is supposed to be alot faster with the same power then the 29. Just have to wait and see.

Bige,
Not sure why, but that's a good observation. It's been discussed before and I don't ever recall getting a firm inclination of what the reason. Maybe there was a leftover mold from another line and it was easier than recreating.

Word has it, though that the new 30 Outlaw will share the lines of the other outlaws.

A 30 Outlaw??? I must live in a cave. When are they coming out with that?? Does anyone have any photos of it? Is it going to have both the single and twin engine options. I know you can only get a 302 boss with a twin set up. Eric

well guys the 29 is a follow up on the "euro lines" and the other boats follow the lines of the "east coast" builders, the 29 will still be available for a couple more years, they are not going to stop making them, at least right now anyway!

bige,

Baja is indeed building a 30 Outlaw, which is supposed to be incredible. Looks will be inproved(imo), it's supposed to be faster and lighter than a comparable 29. I first learned about it at the Miami boat show last year and it is supposed to be debuted at the 2003 Miami show.

Some people here have even seen it, but no pics yet.

I don't see how they could make both models because of the havoc that would create in pricing them. There would have to be a big enough gap in price between the 29 and 30 or else you would not sell any 29's Too big of a gap and a buyer will just move up to a 33. I don't see how they could pull it off.

as i recall, when the 29' came out in 1997,
the 25, 33,36, and 40 were not out yet,
the 36 came out in mid 1997, the 25, and
33 came out in 1998, the 40 in 2000.
baja must have obviosly figured out
that the 36 looked better than the 29,
and made the rest of the lineup resemble
the 36.
my only complaint on the 29 is the
rear vent styling.
otherwise i love the boat.

Default 29 outlaw

I love the boat too, but you are right, I don't care much the side vents either, I wish they made them like the 25's, 33, 36 and 40 outlaws, I also like the more square look these boats have below the wind deflector

hey 29 outlaw, whats going on, I do agree with you on what you said, I was just going off of what a Baja salesman was telling me, the 29's will come down a hair in price, the 30 will be a little more than what the 29 use to be, and after a year or two he said they will cancel the 29, I have heard that the molds were getting old, don't know if that is true though
