Default Exhaust Tips

Has anybody replaced the Corsa muffler tips with straight thru ones? If so, did the bolt hole patterns line up thru the transom? Which tips did you go with? After having two boats with the sweet sound of straight thru exhaust, the new boat just sounds too wimpy.

I had my tips replaced over the winter with Corsa straight pipes. Sounds great, throatily. I had the Dealer replacement them for me and they used the same bolt holes. The only think I would be worried about is when removing the old tips not to mess-up the finish.

srpbaer,
How much trouble was it to get the old ones off? Any tips? I've got 2 engines to do.

Bruce...

I replaced the corsa tips with angle cut tips from stainless marine w/ internal flapper.....hardest part is getting the rubber exaust tubing off and it's really not that hard.....the holes match up fine!

I used marine silicon to seal them.....the tips I had had the rubber gasket and it doesn't fit the regular tips....

I did it for the first time last year....you wont have any problems.

I had my dealer put the long slanted tips on my 33. Can't tell you how it sounds because I haven't had her in the water yet! My brother has a 275 w/ the 496 HO and the same tips. That engine almost sounds as nice as the 500 EFI. In my opinion it has a better (deeper) tone than the 502 Mag.
