As the parent of a special needs child I think it is a wonderful idea! I'm sure you will have no shortage of people willing to help put this event together. Thank your friend for me, what he is doing is a great example of "Public Service" My hat's off to you guys.

Great cause, we have an employee with a child that participates in the Special Olympics.
We have supported it for almost ten years now.
I wish the Poker Run was closer.
May have to consider that in our area now that we have a boat club.

Where is the BBQ cookoff? If it is at the lake you could have the poker run there and when its over we all eat BBQ. I'm in!! I think the one at Lewisville was for charity, they had different companies sponsor prizes for the run. You might talk with them and see how they did there run.

Great idea, anything for the kids.......
Good luck with it, I do some charity stuff myself and find it very rewarding and inspirational, especially when dealing with kids.
Nice job man....

Like I said in the earlier post, I would check with someone who has done it before. I would also do it on a big lake (Texoma) to attract more people and money. Most of the poker runs are 50/50, 50 to charity 50 to winner. Normally a $200.00 to $500.00 entry fee.
Going to EM Sunday. Anyone going? Would go Saturday but Liquids wife is having a baby shower and the wife is going. I will probably clean, wax and work on the boat. Oh yea and drink beer.
