Question In or Out

Just curious if any body has any info about running their props to the Outside. It is my understanding that by doing so you gain mph but lose a little stability. Will switching the props have any ramifications on the outdrives/transmission having to run them in reverse to go forward? Any input would be great.

If your running bravos, you just make the switch at the shifters. It sounds like you are running TRS or something with transmissions, in which case you have to pull the outdrives and switch them. You cant run alphas, TRS etc in reverse, you must have a LH and RH.

Try it and see. I think the results are different boat to boat. I do hear that you have a harder time at the docks turning in.

hope that helps

What model of boat ?

Some boats, theres very little
if any increase in performance
by changing rotation.
btw, usually, turning the
props in ( port rotating counterclockwise,
starboard rotating clockwise, as viewed
from stern) has the slight edge on speed.
But usually always results in poor
docking maneuverability.
