Refrigerator?

A friend of mine was out with me on my 292 Islander and went to get something out of the "refrigerator" and pulled the door off of the hinges. In order to examine how to fix the problem, I unscrewed the "refrigerator" and pulled it out only to find that it is simply a thin plastic compartment with about an inch of stryofoam and a drain line (no electric connections). There is a switch on the main panel labeled "refrigerator". ?????????????

Hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

They will usually give you an ice chest for free, if they charged you for a refrigerator than you got ripped!

I am not really familiar with the 292 Islander other than the pictures I have seen of it.

If there is a switch on the panel, then it must be an option. Worse case, it you have already paid for it, then it should be easy to install and wire up.

Keep us posted.

Doc - I bought the boat used and now I am just trying to figure out what I have. The wierd thing is that all the wires appear to be behind the "fridge". Maybe there is another kind of refrigerator for the boat that is not just a glorified cooler.

2002 Baja Boss 340
Howie,

My 342 had a switch for a hot water heater plus hot and cold faucets but I could never get any hot water so I called the dealer and they said that Bajas come from the factory with the panels labeled for all the options that are available on that particular model, even if it doesnt have a refrigerator, hot water heater etc.

Thanks Jeff. I wondered why that thing never got cool, unless I put ice in it! Does anyone know where to get a real refrigerator?
