Thanks for all the input. I'm in OKC and hoping to buy this season. We have a one year old son and my wife loves the a/c generator thing in our old slow Sea Ray. I on the other hand can't wait for more speed. I guess I'll try to find 502's and see if we can afford them., or if the money is right 496 or 496 ho. Again thanks

I was going to suggest a 2001 vs. 2000 cause it will get you 496HO vs. 502 but I didn't know what your budget was.

I have a 2001 with 496HO and have seen slightly over 79mph on GPS. Buying a boat with enough speed goes a long way in keeping you satisfied for years to come. Despite what folks might have you believe, there are not many stock, production boats out there that can run 80mph. Buying one that can run 79+ should keep you from wanting more in a year or so. Too bad my boat's not for sale just yet.

You should be able to find a 2001 with HO's for 80K or less. What's your budget going to be?

How much to get into a 29 outlaw with 496 ho's?? I guess it would have to be 01 or newer.

No more than 80K with trailer.

How fast do you need to go? And why are you in such a hurry?

Your gonna get the four foot itch after owning the 29, so why not save your self a few years worth of hassling and go straight for a .38 Special?

Teambaja I like your style, In fact I wish you were my banker! We're in no rush at all, in fact I've been lurking around ever since we sold our 272 a few years ago (before our oldest child was born, he's 3 now). We boat on a relatively small lake in Oklahoma and a 38 would eat it up and the same probably applies to the 33. That also sounds better than I don't know if I would part with the cash for one of those bad boys.

I think a boat like a 29 Outlaw (or 30 Outlaw) has it's purpose. It's easily trailerable and you can zip around like it's not even behind you. You can easily pull into and out of gas stations, it can be parked in your driveway, it can be towed with a 1/2 ton, etc. but it will still give you the twin BB experience.

I once owned a 29 with 7.4's,
like liquid said, the 25's will run with you.

Needless to say, I don't own it anymore.

Go with magnum's or better.
