232 HP estimate?
OK, I have a 1997 232 boss with a built 502 carbed engine. I run according to gps approx 70 mph at 5100 rpms on a standard Bravo 1 outdrive with a 24p bravo 4blade prop. Im guessing around only 425-450 hp, any thoughts? Any other 232 boaters, what do you run and with what setup. Thanks for any help. Only reason I ask is because I have no internal engine specs on this but being a 502 with merlin heads, holly carb, RPM airgap manifold, and whatnot I figured I would get more speed out of this thing. Im guessing it just has a small low end cam. This thing is a beast at lower and midrange operation and falls flat near 4500-5000 rpms.
Thanks again

Have you tried a 25P Mirage Plus? You should get a little more speed which would put you closer to 450hp. The Bravo 1 scrubs a little speed, so you're probably generating more than 425.
My best two-way average is 69.5mph on GPS with a mildly modified 454 Mag MPI. I suspect I'm generating about 415 hp. That's with a 23P Mirage Plus at about 5300rpm. I can only spin a stock 25P to about 4800 rpm.

Racinbird,
Hydromotive "Turbo" 3-blade 25P will give you 73mph on the GPS in 2-3 foot chop. You will have your hands full though!
I am curious to see what the 25 Mirage will do.
Keep me updated on any mods you do to that beast!
