Bare A$$

Here’s my boat after removing the platform. I’m not going to try and convince anyone that it looks better without it cause it doesn’t. I removed it to make transom cleaning less stressful. Those with twins, hydraulic steering, and platforms know what I talking about. Those who plan on having them someday will find out.

I might have to go with angled exhaust tips now. Never needed them before cause you couldn’t see them anyway. When you first glace at the boat this way from a distance, you have to do a double-take cause it completely looses the “Baja look”. Not saying that’s good or bad but it just looks like some “other” brand. In a way I think it looks more aggressive.

BTW – lower cases are off for fresh paint.

Here’s my nemesis all shrink wrapped and ready for the guy who buys my boat. Actually, starting with it off might be a benefit for someone cause they can take it to the powdercoater. Everyone knows that the paint that came on these platform is not very robust.

U need more "transom jewelry"
if your going to leave it off.

Some big ass coffee can mufflers
or some angle tip pipes should do

Good luck on getting the paint to stick,
mine are now "naked", problem solved

Getting the cases and the props back on will go a long way towards making it look "normal" again. I really think I have to do something with those exhaust tips though. Those rubber ones make it look like a tug boat.

Looks good to me. No more busting your head on it, I know I do that regularly. A little dressing up back there, and it will looks great.

Hell, you might actually pick up a little speed...what's it weigh, 75 pounds maybe? That weight, as far aft as you can get goes a long way towards affecting the CG, and A$$ weight.

This would never be an option for me, though. We use our platform every time we go out.

Yea - I thought about the weight thing also. That platform was heavier than I thought considering it's aluminum. It wouldn't surprise me if it was 100lbs.

Not only easier to clean but I don't have to drag the ladder around back, carefully position it between the drives, then climb it everytime I need to snap the back of the cockpit cover. After doing that a few 100 times, it gets old.

I can now snap the back of the cover standing flat-footed. Ladder was also needed to clean the back part up by the grap handle. Adios to that ladder $hit.
