290 Sport
I almost bought this Baja last year, but the guy backed out on me at the last second. Very nice boat, he has kept it really clean. Hours are a little high for me, but still a great boat.
This is the first and only 290 sport Ive seen, anyone else have one?

Re: 290 Sport
I had one a 1994 , I sold mine on e bay around Thanksgiving time. Its fine in calm water but really rough riding in anytype of chop. I believe the draft is 23* and also it has a 9 1/2 foot beam which also gives it a rough ride. I just bought a 1995 32' caliber, from what I have read it will be a much better ride.

The combination of the wide beam and 21 degree deadrise made for a rough riding boat. I had one Baja dealer tell me that he refused to stock the 290 because they handled so bad in rough water. The flip side is that they were fast.

For just a little more money you can go to a 32 Outlaw and have more room, a much better ride, and a sink, stove, fridge, & head.
The 290 shown is essentially a "day cruiser", not as convenient for overnight without the amenities, and will be harder to re-sell.
