Love that color combo
( just happens to be same as mine )

You can't go wrong with red and black
........their "timeless".

A friend of mine has a 36 w/502's and pro chargers,
and boxes.............It runs in the 80 mph neighborhood.

I would think with the wipples, you'll be right in that area too.

One of the motors is a little sick, so I am pulling them both. This boat needs a good going over and I am going to give the motors about another 100 Hp each before they go back in. I better be in the 80's for sure!!!

O.K. So here's the story on how I came to own this boat. I had been watching this boat all summer on Boattrader. As the summer passed the price dropped low enough for me to take a stab at it. When I called to make an offer I was informed that this boat had been reposessed. O.K. Now I start to wonder all kinds of things. It was at a broker so I figured there was no way I would ever get the right history on the thing. I go ahead and make an offer contingent on a few things. After 3 tries we hit an agreable number. Then the broker tells me it will need final approval from the courts. From the courts ??? I need to know more at this point because if it was a repo shouldn't I be dealing with a bank?? That's when I find out it was not really a repo but a U.S. government seizure. They had been (the U.S. Marshalls) tracking this boat for over 2 years before they found it. WOW !! This is getting better every time. As we moved closer I set up a time to have the boat surveyed and water tested. It passed the survey (boat only was checked, not engines) so now for the water test. I drive 5 hours with my wife, get to the marina and find that one of the engines is barely running. I whip out the tools and diagnose it as a blown head gasket. I am beside myself at this point. I drive all this way to not be able to test this boat. I was psyched up. Hell I was going from a 24 footer 75 mph boat to a 36 footer that was supposed to go 80+ . What a letdown. We put it back on the trailer and I ask the broker why hadn't they run it. They said that due to the circumstances (seizure) their hands were tied. Every detail had to go through the courts. I drove home that day totally depressed. But I still wanted that boat, and saw this as my golden opportunity. I called the broker back and offered them 15K less than the first offer. He was surprised I called, but still submitted the offer. The Courts said O.K. knowing the boat was sick. Just when I thought we were on the home stretch, the broker calls and tells me that someone has filed a block on my bid. A local marina claimed that the court was selling the boat too low and that they had a mechanics lien on the boat. They claimed that they had replaced one of the motors and outdrives. The drives had sequential numbers so I knew this was bogus. Turns out the marina is a friend of the original owner and that is where the boat had been hidden for 2 years. There are a few more details that I am forbidden to talk about. In the end I got what I wanted at a fair price, even though it took 4 months to get done . I am going to rebuild both motors and have some fun. I love projects !!! Most of all I got the bigger boat I have always wanted and am so glad I don't have to crawl into the cuddy anymore!!

C'mon summer !!!!
