I changed the drive lube on my last boat and forget how many ounces(quarts) it takes, could some one refresh my memory?

88 ounces per the manual...I also made a quick refill tank out of a 1.5 gallon garden sprayer (Home Depot, $11.00) works great.

Start at the bottom, when it gets the vent plug on the side, put it back in, and keep filling until it gets to the top line on the bottle.

Re: Bravo Drive Lube Amount ?

You do have to have (or buy) the hose with the fitting that couples to the drive to make an aftermarket deck/garden sprayer usable. The pump kit costs around ten bucks and can be bought at any Mercury Marine dealer. It's a simple matter of connecting the hose end to the sprayer (usually a like size) and connecting it to the drive, all else is as boatnt says..this really saves alot of time and mess. It really works great with synthetic gear lube but that is another story! Best of luck.

thankyou, I've been pumping for what seems like forever with the little pump that fits on the quart bottle thinking there had to be a better way. now does anybody have a simple way to remove and reinstall the drives????

Re: Bravo Drive Lube Amount ?

Removing them is easy...I assume the problem your talking about is when you try to get the spline to line back up with the coupler...is thats what you mean try this ...disconect the coil, have someone crank the engine over while your pushing the drive, it will fall right in place ! I have removed the drives on my last two boats and can take then off in 5 minutes and reinstall them in 5 minutes.
