Re: "NEW" Banana on Ebay
OK here. I checked out the boat. While the pics are not totally representative, they don't lie either. It is a "new" boat. As far as I could tell it truely has never been rigged. Probably not the best work durring layup since there are 2 or 3 visible air pockets/craters (what ever you want to call them) in the hull. Nothing bigger than say, a quarter at most. Boat apears to have a little chalkyness to it but a good wash and wasx would probably take care of that. The teak work is in need of some TLC to make it nice agian. It had the v-berth pads that appeared to be in good shape. It had a sunpad It will need to be re-apholstered as will all seating. It is set up to be an OUTBOARD on a bracket. It has the same dual tanks as my boat which are good for around 120 gals. combined. You would need to lose one tank to even think about making an I/O out of it. And from what I understand, Charlie and Charlie say that the stringer layout is different between the I/O and OB versions. Now for the part that would concern me. While it hasn't been "in" the water, I don't know how much effort was taken to stop water from being "in" it. When I opened the rear hatch It had approx 6" of water in the bilge. Maybe this was the first time? Maybe it wasn't? But with the amount of fade in the red stripe on the bolsters(now pink!) I would guess not. I do have a few pics, covering most angles, from when I looked it over. My opinion is that if someone is seriously interested in it, spend the money and get a top notch surveyer got go through it first. I certianly know I wish I had when I bought mine. But live and learn. I just hope someone besides me learns from my mistake.
I hope this answers most peoples questions about it.

I had a structural survey done on the Banana I was hot for, #14.
It had been stored nose down and uncovered for 3 years and had quite a bit of water in the bilge.
Survey came back bad, all stringers and bulkheads wet, but no rot.
I passed and bought a Superboat.

Oh, by the way Evan. The sound that the low oil warning makes is...............................................
ANNOYING!
Really though it is an intermitant beep. At least thats what mine does.

Re: "NEW" Banana on Ebay
You must be referring to my S&F post.
It was the low oil buzzer, but it went haywire and sounded when the key was turned on, until turned off even before and after the motor was running. It didn't even matter since the oil injection, VRO is removed and I'm mixing 40:1.
The wire was cut last Sat. and then we went for an 80 mile run up East Passage, around Vashon Island, up past Seattle and back down Colvos Passage.
Now I just hear the screaming V8, and it is a loud biotch
We dressed out in gortex and motorcycle helmets, not warm, but not cold either.
We aint too old to blast in the cold
