Hull # 1, of the new banana boat 2008 "Black Series", is being built as a very special tribute boat, to a legend of offshore.
To do this, I turned once again to my friends from the past, former racers and boat builders. I wanted a boat capable of true open ocean running, with the highest degree of safety possible.
One friend is helping with the engineering for the balance and power, another has been very generous in sharing the latest in composite technology, yet another in the black arts of props. The team has many years of real experience, in high speed open ocean runnning to draw upon.
The first public display will be in South Florida, at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show in October. Orders will be taken at that time. Pricing to be announced.
The boat will be built as a 26 footer with a bracket for single or twin outboards .......and also as a 24 footer, with single engine sterndrive power, up to a 700 SCi with an NXT1 drive.

Thats alot of Ponies in the Stern Drive model. ! Do you think the balance will be OK with the weight of todays O/B' s , say a Verado for example. What is the beam on your 24 ? I look forward to seeing them. Do you by chance know the dates of the Ft. L. show?

I raced this boat with twin 400 HP engines, so I know it can handle 800 HP with no problem....the 700 would be a nice package on the high end for sterndrives.
The boat has an 8 foot beam, just like a 38 Top Gun.
Let's face it, most of these boats will not be sold with the biggest power package available. We feel that there is a real market for a single 250 or 300 HP outboard or a 496 HO sterndrive.
Another nice package would be twin 200 HP outboards.....total weight about 1,000 lbs...less than a single sterndrive.
Someone can get into a real go-fast boat with a racing pedigree, and open ocean capability and not have to mortgage their life to do it.
