I ran into a very bad company which you do not want to do business with!! I bought a brand new head unit online to find out it is defective after the install. I figure "these things happen" so I contacted them to send a new one and I would ship it back. They said it isn't their policy to send new ones. They told me to send it back (shipping not included) and if they find it to be defective then they will send it repaired or refund my $, however in the mean time go online and buy another one and if I pay extra they can ship it right away. Othewise they said it would take 6-9 weeks!!!
Not to mention every time you call you are on hold forever and then when you get someone they all say the same thing "sorry, although I agree with I do not have any authority to help you"
Actually no... There were a couple different ones for similar amounts... After reading reviews after this all happened, turned out it seems like a pattern. They do this to a lot of people are there are many Better Business Bureau complaints against them...... and soon to be one more.
Just to look at it from their perspective.....How many fried components do you think they get returned when they are hooked up wrong? These are sensitive electronics and of course everyone is going to say it was defective so the 6-9 week lead time for repair/diagnosis is probably because the manufacturer won't take back fried units and some poor guy is sitting at a bench all day checking returned units.
Not saying this is the case with your unit/ install but I do have a buddy that is famous for knowing how to do something until it breaks, then he reads the directions. He fried a Pioneer head unit then returned it as defective, they repaired it and sent it back to him but he was impatient and bought/installed another one in the meantime so now he owns two. Of course I have to remind him if he paid the $99 to install the radio he would have saved money and currently wouldn't own two identical head units!

In my case, DEFINATELY not the case. Simple replacement and everything was wrong. However, I do see your point. Yet that does not excuse a company for leaving me on hold for over 20 min on multiple occassions, not calling me back, not responding to emails. Then not willing to work with me on coming to a equitable solution.
After further research they have multiple Better Business Bureau reports against them as well as terrible reviews. (my fault for not looking to begin with) After reading multiple reviews it sounds as if this is an ongoing issue. They send refurbished items or defective then keep the customers money and make it extremely difficult to return the item.
I do appreciate your point, however this company does not fit that bill.
The very best for decades has been Crutchfield. Not the cheapest, just the best. Aside from that, get one at Best Buy. Onlinecarstereo.com is a bit fishy at best.

its a bad policy, they should exchange it.sending it off to get repaired is BS.they should have there own return policy that lets ya send it back for 30 to 90 days, but as the NORM now days customer service sux!!!
