IMO the Black Thunder is best suited for the michigan type of boater. Up here we all sleep on our boats all weekend. Its hot during the day and cool at night. Very comfortable weather. Where the black thunder is most popular is LOTO but everyone has a condo there so why would you need a floating condo also! What also sucks for Black Thunder is everyone who is in love with them can not afford them. Everyone who would actually use it exactly how its intended can not afford one. And the people with money who can afford one have so much money they either buy a larger yacht, or a really fast go fast, or both!
I think that sums it up.

Any news if the company has been sold or ever going to re-open?

Not sold and unsure of opening status. Rumor was they were eyeing some CC's to make but never heard if that actually was going thru. Last time I was there, Bob was building fiberglass contractor truck beds for a large company. Molds and everything else was there, just no orders.

Too bad about BT. They made a really nice boat. I really like them. Looked at a few myself before I went Sonic.

I dont think there is a better cabin in the gofast world, than a BT. They are huge and very well done. The birth up front is awesome. Tons of storage space. The later models, the cabins were just beautiful with the cabinetry and layout.

The 47 Lightning comes in second, and Sonic 3rd, in my opinion in boats of this size 40 & up. Under 40, I think Sonic has the best cabin, space and head room out of all others.
