From the pic do all flat bottom BT's run so tight to the water? Any ideas on how to loosen her up?

Did you finish the refurb on it? Boat looks nice. IMO, I like the attitude it is running at.

Yeah, I used the engines out of my old boat, put about 25 hours on in the BT then the last ride of the year killed a rod bearing. The 454's were tired anyway so I planned on a rebuild or replacing with something different.

Jason3603, I think some reliable 700hp 572's would be nice. They should run along time with no issues and should put you over 80 with no problem.

Best,
Jason Parvey
What do you think of the GMPP 572's crate motors with a cam change. Heard some good and some not so good.

Oh boy. Another flatdeck... imo as well as Saxmans, it will take 700 a side to see 80. Gregs 97 does carry the nose better and it is straight bottom. 525 efi and Bravos.

Engines should pulled and torn down this weekend. Hopefully get the heads, intakes, and blowers over to Velaco by Friday.

Now I just need to figure out what cubic inch. Thinking about 540 short blocks. So I can use my existing b&m 250 super schargers, chillers, oil pans, intakes, timing cover ect. Thoughts?

Sounds like a good build plan. What drives are on this boat? Also, I m sure ou have checked them thouroghly but make sure that transom and stringers are good. Just previous experience tells me that these boats always dont fair the best.

Currently running bravos with max machine upgrades. I am very interested in the new Imco I keep hearing about. Do you guys think a higher x is needed or is the larger surface drive prop the key to putting up higher speed numbers?

The stringers and transom are pretty good.
