Default Question....Cigarette Top Gun accident.....NJ

There is some local talk about a Cigarette Top Gun that had an accident in the Point Pleasant area recently.
Any truth in this?

no one injured as far as i know. i dont enuff about what happened to open the can of worms other than it was a late latemodel gun that SUPPOSEDLY was involved in a low speed spin out and flip...the owner of the boat is related to an OSO member and since there was nothing in the local papers about the incident, i'm thinkin the time isnt right to spill the beans for 1 reason or another...sorry

Everyone got a bit banged up but all 6 are ok.

A cracked steering line was found after they pulled the boat out.

From the reports I was getting you would have thought the boat was totaled. That is certainly not the case. The boat needs some glass work but not much. The swim platform top bolts snapped off but the bottom bolts kept it intact.

The boat was remarkably clean inside and out when I saw it just a few days afterwards.

Glad to see everyone made it out ok...

Probably what really hurt was being told it was $8,000 to tow the boat in from just a mile or two. The boat was brought back to their home port marina that has the facilities to do whatever it takes to pull it out...

I would have taken pics, but being as the owner wasn't available to ask for permission to do so, I left the camera in the truck.

It is sure to back out on the water soon...

A low speed spin out and flip? Never even heard of that. Never really thought about slow you could be going and that happen. Glad everyone is ok except for his wallet. $8000 for a tow. Holy Crap!
