There is a big piece missing from this like this guy is very hooked up or maybe witness protection, dont laugh its happened.Or it was not a Fountain this happened fast the witness could be wrong.Like I said somethings missing even if the boat was taken out in the desert and torched there would have to eventually be an insurance claim

If the boat's not destroyed by now, it may be prudent to look for similar boats with fresh non-fountain graphics (recently repainted) or even all-white ones. Can't imagine the individual would not change the appearance of the vessel. Then again, I can't imagine the individual not completely getting rid of the thing all together.

And also let's face it, eye-balling the size of a fountain by someone not as familiar with offshore boats like we here on OSO, could be difficult. They can be deceptive due beak and sleek hullforms. No disrespect meant with the beak thing, but seriously, a lay person could easily misjudge its size. I'd be looking at everything from 24's to 35's.

At speed, the casual observer, could easily misjudge it.

FYI

There were three credible witnesses at the time of the accident. One party owns a 27 foot Hallet and is very familiar with boats. He is positive it was a Fountain. Single engine. 27 or 29 foot.

This was a big question for many people. Honestly, this has been put to bed (the type of boat.)

People are working very hard on this. There were two people in the Fountain. A man and a woman. Hopefully the party will be identified.

But it is the intent of everyone to keep this in front of the boating community.

Remember this accident happend on a weekday, I believe a Thursday. The day before, a similar, if not the same, Fountain was seen around Windsor Beach.

I do believe the boat will be found eventually.

Thanks for pointing that out. I hadn't yet heard who/where the eyewitness accounts came from.

I can't believe they cant find this worthless person. My thoughts and prayers go out to the little boy. Do the boats in those states have same reg numbers and markings as other states. like letters and sticker may sound dumb but was just wondering. I cant believe you could hide sumthing of that size.

a few
horrible all the way around...my guess is the guy was over the bac limit and panicked and now is in hiding.

2 years ago I was pulling out of my marina, in my 24 ft Limestone family boat in an area where everybody planes out to get going and a jet ski came shooting across my starboard path from the shore wide open with the rider looking over the wrong shoulder. It took everything I could muster to rip the throttle back and veer hard port side all the while leaning on my under powered horn and shouting hysterically.

Sold my 2 skis the very next day and ordered the highest decibal rated horn for that boat.

I share this just as a reminder that sometimes events can be out of our control on the water...

This is the kind of incident that could have many negative consequences for boaters in general.

Condolences and let me know if there is a fund going for the kid.
