I'm sure most people would end the friendship with someone who did something like this. He killed someone and ran. It stops being a forgivable accident if you run.

Although this is probably known by all, it bears mentioning...
Anyone attempting to conceal or assist the responsible individual in concealing evidence of this mishap is committing a serious crime. That means that if this boat is in a friend's garage or being repaired at a pal's shop, those persons could also be in some serious trouble.
No matter how good a friend this guy might be to someone, is he worth going to prison for?

This has nothing to do with this horrible situation, I'm just chiming in on what Chris posted about "others that may be involved"...
5 years ago, my 17 year old son was murdered, there were 2 involved, but only one commited the actual muder. The other "friend" stayed in the car during the whole beating. They both ran, leaving my son to die. 2 weeks later they arrested the "friend", unfortuantely, the only evidence they had was his testimony...which he refused to give....but once they informed him of all the charges he was facing, for just being there & being a "friend". He was facing charges ranging from accessory after the fact, failing to render aid, witholding evidence, & quite a few others I can't think of. In reality, if he had been convicted of all, he was facing just as much time as the "thug" that actually killed him.....It didn't take much more convincing before he started singing like a bird....Yes, they both are currently in prison, but the "friend" ended up with only 10 years, versus the 40 years the other got.....Soooo, if you know something....speak up, I'm sure you don't want to do your "friends" time, because the longer this takes, & they will find whoever is responsible...Plea bargins become alot harder to pull off...."MURDER" CARRIES A PRETTY STIFF PENEALTY....THINK ABOUT IT!!!!

Prisons are overflowing with people who were 100% certain they'd never get caught.
