LOL, reading this years later. My girl is 3 months old and she will be driving at that age. Powerboat713 is right on. Its good to teach them young. They learn faster.

You guys can fight over her driving etc but fyi - JetPilot was one of the first "impact rated" vests. It started out as a fast, high-impact jet ski vest when they started making jet skies faster than 50mph say around 93-94 and up. That vest she's wearing is obviously not a LifeLine but they are speed rated which is kinda nice.

They were made right down the street from where I used to live...

I was driving a formula 311 at 8 slowly, and a 32 excalibur (pre wellcraft) at high speeds at 12, gotta learn somehow.

As well as not wearing a safety bouyancy aid, I wonder if this 11 year old girl driving this boat at 75 mph was wearing a kill cord?

Scary. ("It won't happen to me"..............)
Nice, and I would like to try

Default Correct

I'm sorry I didn't find this thread a long time ago . If you watch the video on youtube click on members other videos . Her name is Sarah and in one of the videos she lowers the boat in the water cranks it hooks lanyard up , wears vest and returns it to lift by herself .
This girl performs this as well as any grown man I ever seen . Dad drives boat like its a get ski though but this is the very boat that got me interested in superboats Y2K , My kids are 18 and 20 and I wouldn't trust them like I would her . Wish I had started mine driving young !

Here's mine at 11. The only reason you don't see me in the picture is because the wife had me back out for a second to get the picture. I agree with others on this thread there's no replacement for seat time. I started on my dads lap at 5.

None.

Lanyard, proper PFD, nothing. (and that vest was a joke)

And I'm doubting that at the speed they were running that she made a swift panic turn at that bridge opening. I'd like to see the rest of the tape.

My guess is she's not on the list of named operators on the boat's insurance policy either.
I guess Chris was just jealous that she had more seat time than him.
