A moonless night, on a black boat, with no lights, and they can't understand why the boat got hit? Yes I do agree with you about the teather.

That´s real sad. Alot of factors contributed to a tragic result. The law says that if you drive under the influence, you are going to take full responsibilty, even if the other party contributed with a major misjudgement.

I´ve driven at night, often. Standing up, wearing PFD and lanyard, but often it has gone through my mind - if someone is out there in black boat without lights (fishing, or whatever), am I going to see them in time.

If at least, we all learn something from all of these unfortunate accidents............

SUTPHEN CPBA PRES.
Man this one sucks for everyone.

I feel for the families of the guys who got hit.

I am sure this guy didnt intend to run them down though.
While it doesnt make it right, I am sure he felt like there was plenty of water between him and the next boat.

Accidents unfortunately happen, and a stupid mistake is almost always the cause or there wouldnt be an accident.

I would imagine this guy feels awful. Knows he made some mistakes and would take it back if he could.
