They updated the original story to now show 9 people in the body of the article, even though the headline still reads 11. Gotta love when the media gets their facts straight before going "to print".

Even 9... Its a 21 foot boat. Thats the equivalent of a clown car.

I have a strict policy of 6 on my boat and its 34 feet.

Unless you are fleeing another country that is just rediculous. They dispatched a fuken Coast Guard helicopter. LOL
Who pays that bill?

I'm not saying what they did is smart...I would not do it....

BUT, playing devils advocate, it does not specify what type of vessel it is.

For instance the Super Air Nautique G21 rollbar boat specifies a 14 person capacity right on their website.....and it's 21 feet long.

Around here it seems the smaller, and most times crappier a boat the more people in it.

I bet that's a fun ride down the main channel on a Saturday. Ouch.

Definitely not debating you dude. I am just laughing my azz off over here.

I know the wakeboard crowd loves that chit but over the years that many people equates to excessive drunkeness, at least two couples getting into fights, wine on interior, wine and lipstick on vinyl, people smoking cigarettes 6 inches from the gas tank vent tube, constant arguments over the songs on my playlist that I like and my personal favovite... this thing will take $100 in gas?

Can you tell that I love groups of people on my boat?

LOL, you've had some crummy experiences with people on your boat by the sound of it. Can't say I blame you.

I guess if you were REALLY wanting to put 11....or 9....people on your 21 foot boat, this canal would be the place to do it....it's only 160 feet wide, and 15 feet deep. lol.

I'd be curious what caused it to begin to sink? Certainly wasn't high seas, based on the location.

If it were me (and everyone was safe) I would be embarassed as hell!

"Yeah, we took the boat out, didnt leave the intercoastal and the Coastguard had to come save us" LOL
