Are Carrera's actually 1st generation offshore baja's?
I was wondering if this was talk ing about the same type of boats I think of when talking about a carrera.
This is taken from the actual baja marine website:
"We spent the 1970s perfecting our nontraditional designs, further solidifying Baja's styling and position as an innovator. That’s when Baja took the lead in exclusively pursuing the sport boat market. It was a move that paid off when our first big high-performance boat, the Carrera 240, was introduced in 1978. And the 1979 Carrera SS Bowrider earned a Powerboat Magazine "Boat of the Year" award its first year out! "

there were 2 or 3 carrera boat companys. baja came from ohio. the carrera 240 looks like an overgrown hawaiian or sidewinder jet boat. they ain't no way the baja 240 outlaw is descended from a SS7M. if it was, it would be better built...

Two different companies sold boats under the name Carrera.. The one in California that made jetboats ,party cats and lake boats with the typical Cali "look" and the Miami Carrera that made the offshore sport and race boats ..
They have absolutely nothing in common besides the name..
