Why not bigger???

Why doesn't Checkmate make anything bigger than 33'? We had a 251 and loved it. We are looking in the 36'-40' range and would definitely look at CM if they had one. Any talk of building anything bigger? It seems that some of the other builders, ie Sunsation, are starting to build larger boats.

Re: Why not bigger???

In my opinion, Checkmate does a great job making small boats, that is their forte. They actually seem to sell more boats in the 18-25 ft range than anything 25 and biggger. Checkmate is going for the smaller market and they are doing what they are good at. I bet they don't sell many ZT 330's.

Re: Why not bigger???

I was at the factory this past summer. Mike was telling me that once they were done with the 24', they might begin on a larger boat. something around a 36' - 39'.

You need that 39 for Cross Lake huh ? I hear the bass boats get it pretty whipped up !!

Seriously..... if you are still thinking of more HP let me know, still have a motor and accessories available.

Is there talk of another Checkmate Regatta this summer ? You gonna head out again ?

LOL,
I am thinking of more HP, however my honeydo list is growing. If I do anything, it would be later this spring. That being said, what do you have??

I haven't heard any news about the regatta yet, But I'm sure there will be one. Thinking about going? It's a great time.

Re: Why not bigger???

I would like to go out if the timing is ok with work.

Have a 468 built for marine use. Made 600hp and 600ftlbtq on dyno. Top shelf internals.

Kept around for a spare, hope not to ever need it !!
