Hmmm... what rubber hatch thingies are you referring to?

Just got my '99 283 on LOTO for the first time this weekend. Seriously digging it.

We love our boat. We haven't had to deal with Checkmate much. We purchased a new swim platform and carpet. Our boat has been trouble free for the last 6 years and that's contributed to Checkmate's build quality and Mercruiser's running gear. Hopefully you won't have to deal with the manufacturer. Congratulations on your purchase.

did you get that blue checkmate from 12 and 120? There is a new dealer there with a 300 sitting out front. Nice boats, I love mine.

I have owned 2 Checkmates in the past. I have never really needed anything from the factory. I can tell you they are quality build boats.

'99 Checkmate
I called the factory to order some small things and they were very helpful. No major problems with the mate!
