2004 240 Convincor - What do you think?

I'm seriously considering buying this boat. Does anyone have any experience with the 240 Convincor and feel like sharing? Also, does anyone know what this boat would have gone for new in 04? The seller is firm at $31K, which sounds like a pretty good deal to me, considering the boat only has 40 hours on it and looks to be in mint condition.

Thanks for the response. I've been around boats my whole life, but this is going to be the first one I own. Just wanted to see if you Checkmate guys thought it was a good deal.

Seems like a pretty fair price. Be careful tho, the CM guys seem to have a very biased opinion. Where at in NE Ohio is the boat? Maybe I can get some more pics for you if its close to me.

As my opinion came from I have seen numerous pics of this boat and I have communicated with the owner of the boat way before this thread came up. The guy also always keeps this boat inside his garage. Not left in the water or dry dock.

So if this is bias so be it.

Reeelax, it wasn't directed at you. Everybody has a bias to the particular brand they own, usually anyhow, and hesitant to mention any drawbacks.

Its a good looking boat for sure, I like the colors. There is also a 28 Convincor over on the Checkmate site that the guy selling it seems anxious to move it, but it was a little older too I think. It was white and red, personally I like the blue better.

As far as the additional pictures go, the owner already emailed me a bunch of good ones, so I'm all set there. Thanks for the offer though.

Unfortunately, they passed a speed limit law (45 mph) up on Lake Winnipesaukee in NH, where I'll be keeping the boat. So, top end isn't too much of a concern, although I'm sure I'll open it up every now and then when there's no Marine Patrol around.. I put a deposit down and the boat is being delivered this weekend. Thanks for the feedback guys.

Coleman2882,
I've boated with the gentleman you are buying the boat from for the last 16 years. I was there the day he brought it home and helped him wash-n-wax it. You are getting a boat that is as clean and well maintained as you will ever see. If I had the money the boat would be in my garage already and would never have been for sale on the forum. Its a shame about the speed limit thing though because it does run very well.
Enjoy your new toy!

i love my 26 ZT, a friend has a 24 ZT (small block ) and loves it, and another friend has a 24 conv with small block and loves it. so im sure its a good boat, and with that motor im sure she goes good. the 2 24's with the small blocks run top 50's. mine with the 375 hp runs 50 with the prop off a bit.
