The 229's gone
I sold my 229 Saturday and hate to say it but I'm moving over to the Beak Boat group. The little 'Mate was a great boat and I will allways stand behind the quality and sound construction of Checkmate. We took that boat places it wasn't meant to be and allways came through (some pretty rough conditions) without a creak or rattle.
We just signed a deal last night on a 97 Fountain Fever 27, 502 efi, mag Procharged. This a quite a change from the 229 which was no slouch with 450hp, but the ride is night and day.
I'll keep browsing this section and drop in occasionally to see how Ya'll are doing.

Believe me guys I was planning on a 253 when a great deal on the beak came up. My wife looked at it and said you should buy this boat, hey I couldn't argue with that.
Steve, I'm sure I can get you on the hole shot but once that big Cig gets its legs I don't think I'll have much on you with those big blowers. From 40 to 70 this things a rocket with the procharger. I just want to run with you big dogs a little. Too bad I won't get it till next Wednesday, I'd love to take it on the poker run to Smithfield.
