Default The last checkmate 251?

Hello guys,
Mine is titled as a 2000 year model. I've seen 1998 and 1999 models out there but mine must of been built in late 1999. This is my first checkmate and love the look of the boat. Purchased the boat last October. Just finished dropping in a fresh 468 build. I'm just refreshing the boat before I hit the water with it. Anyone out here own one of these? Any advice or suggestions? From what I've read these boats porpoise under 40mph. Is there a fix?

Jorge, you may want to direct you questions on checkmate-boats.com. That's where all the diehard Checkmate fans hang out. If your porpoising you may have the X-dimension set up too deep. Alot may have to do with prop choice also. Moving to a good 4-blade prop will help the handling department.

Just registered at checkmate boats . Com. The boat has not seen the water since I purchased it last year. So I do not really know if it porpoises or not. From browsing on the Internet I've noticed other owners of the 251 complaining about the issue. Thanks for the reply.

I do not own one. However, I have read that a longer trim tab like the k-plane will work. My friend has a 98 251. It does take some time to get it to settle down with the stock tabs.
