Hey thanks. I passed on a 98 251 w/ a HP500 last year. Wish I would have bought it now.
TEXT sent.

This boat is one of the nicest ones around. One ride and you will be sold. The CMI headers alone make this boat sweet. I understand you are "brainwashed" (no offense) on mercury power but I am pretty sure GM can build a ZZ502 as good or better then Merc can build an engine. Plus this boat has a FRESH engine. That's pretty much what you are buying in your next boat, an engine. So why risk it with a used engine that could go anytime when this one has all the receipts proving its fresh. Mercury engines wear out and blow up also. I just love the unique colors of this 251 and how sweet it runs, sounds, drives and rides. Cool boats. IMO you could make this guy an offer, enjoy the boat and sell it in a couple years and not lose a penny. Plus not have to dump a dime into it either. If you do go with Merc power I promise you will be disappointed with anything less then a HP500. Good luck on your shopping and when you get a boat bring her up to Traverse City and run with us sometime!

That second one needs external steering.

Not to be critical, just asking questions for a potential buyer.

OffshoreE- Ross does have a very nice 251!

KTime, not sure on the speeds and I agree about the hydraulic steering. I really like that 280ZT, though.

If you want the best riding rough water boat, go for a 283 Convincor. Mine is for sale. Turn Key and is in mint condition for its age. Motor now has 100hrs on it. New cockpit cover and halon system this year. Starts one turn every time and has NEVER let me down. Bandit Performance Marine services this boat and is available to talk to all buyers. asking 30k

The 1999 ZT280 above is my boat. The speed is definitely accurate. The boat runs flawless, in my opinion its better then a stock merc motor, better parts and assembled and tuned by the best around this area, it was done on a dyno by performance marine in lake george, not by mail order like some people tune their EFI.. Boat will run 72 every day on GPS and ive seen 76. The prop is a 26 bravo labbed by bblades and it spins about 5300 rpms. Ive had a few calls on the boat but most have a boat to sell so no deal yet. If youre interested or have questions you can call me at 518*852*38fourfour or just post away. Im located in central NY.
