I'm gonna guess low-mid60s, depending on conditions.

No crazy for wanting to get into race boats at a young age, lol.was told it's a rich mans sport,an I am no rich man,..but I don't see how its crazy to see 70,when I was running about 65 with a 415hp 502 that was knocking like the cops on the front porch..on all the other checkmate threads I'm reading that the boat should do between 68-70 with the stock 502..I'll be happy if she is a true 70mph boat..an thanks in advance for any help,I'm new here an hope to be around a while,..this is hopefully just another step towards a 388 skater 😬😬

Also I only literally drove my boat for about 3 hrs before it went poof,.but it had a 23pitch mirage,.an I was around 65@4800 rpm..new motor is an older gen 4 454 built by a respectable engine builder near the local quarter mile,.all marine internals, roller cam, high rise manifold,etc..

Yeah the guy was a real dick,I basically only got to test drive the boat for about ten minutes,an it felt ok,but it was a Lil boggy,I figured I'd through some treatment worse case clean injectors, but she pretty much felt ok,I get her home an notice a tap in the head,I'm cruising around 3800 an sure enough she just took a ****,oil pressure dropped an she started knocking like a bastard,..I try to call the guy an he blocked my number,.I had a lawyer serve him,an I guess we will now see

I don't feel nearly as bad about the engine issues I'm having on the 253 I got this spring - at least my seller has been very helpful in helping me figure out what is going on.

Glad I can make u feel better,..it's just a totally different animal,it runs way on the back an wantsaying to jump when the base felt twice the size an just crushed the waves,I think I made a mistake an really with I went with the 260 prowler or the 25 outlaw for this matter, but from what I heard people share by these checkmates,so..watev,hopefully once it's all done I can sell it ASAP an I'm just going to look for a 29 or bigger baja/sonic or maybe fountain
