3 Blade or 4 Blade?
I have a 283 Convincor with twin 7.4L. Currently I am runnig a 23 Mirage at 4600 rpm, 65mph GPS. I cruise at 3000 rpm right around 38mph GPS. I am considering a 4 blade, 22 pitch to see what happens. I would like to get some more stern lift out of the boat. Anybody have any experience with props on a twin engine 283???
Thanks!
Thanks!

I can't say that I have experience with a twin 283, but I would definetly say that the way to go is a 4 blade prop. Just remember that if you use a 22" 4 blade Bravo 1, the true pitch is only 20 1/2" . For some reason, they rate those props on the average pitch of the blade, while other props are rated at the maximum pitch. I would get in touch with a reputable prop company like Throttle-Up or Houston and get some advice before spending money..
