New (to me) Float

Hey Everyone,
Thought its about time I introduce myself and share some pics of my new toy.

Just picked up this sweet 1982 Chris Craft with low hour 502 HEI's and TRS drives.
So far 65.4 mph on GPS at 4500rpm , I am hoping to get over 70 with a prop swap.

She will be between Lake Tahoe and the California Delta all summer so any West Coasters feel free to say hi!

Welcome fellow Chris Craft owner.

Actually 65 mph is pretty good for that boat. The TRS is not known for being a really high performance outdrive. You got lots of power those engines are newer 502's I think.

Enjoy!

Thanks you guys!
Yes the engines are newer, installed in 97 but only 60 hrs on them.
The 502's are rated at 415hp from the factory, I can probably get around 430 or so with some mods.

I bought her from the original owner that is a friend of mine so I have all the history on this thing, as well as recipts and such

She is in great shape with the exeption of the cabin that was stripped for an upgrade that never happened, but I am working on that now and will post pictures as things progress.

Thanks again

1972 48' Pacemaker,
Hey Bear great looking boat. I think I saw you going up the Sac River over the weekend. I was tied up at Scotts on my Chris Craft. I actually pointed your boat out to some people I was with and commented what a nice boat it was.

Hey Bill,
Yes, that was me with my family out for a late day run.
The day was great and we had fun until I lost a drive while waiting for the dock to open up.
We only had the right side working and I couldn't figure out why untill we put her on the trailer.
Then it was clear as to why..........the entire shaft, bearing retainer, bearings and prop fell out of the housing
The gears are a bit messed up too.

I have to laugh because I am notorious for breaking the strangest things at the wierdest times.
Any idea how to retrieve it from the bottom of the river?

Anyway, I remember seeing your ride also, very nice.... next time wave me down, I enjoy meeting new people!

Here is a picture of what I pulled out of the water

Its off to Jory at SOS Marine tomorrow............

Not Discovery, the launch across from the big concrete building (dont know the name).
I have an idea on how to fish it out but with the current, who knows if it is even in the same general area.....

Sorry, cant make the 6th, I am waiting on a new lower and it wont be here by then.
Maybe the next trip though!
